Liebster award and my nominations!

As you may already know, I have been nominated by the wonderful Claire from Lovelace & Daydreams for the Liebster award! This is actually really exciting and completely unexpected for me, I have only recently started blogging on a regular basis and the feedback and visitors I receive on a monthly basis from you guys is astounding! I really wanted to thank all of my readers for coming back and sharing my website, it means a lot to me to see that what I am writing about is actually interesting and engaging my audience. So here is my entry for the Liebster award! I hope you enjoy my responses to the questions asked by Claire.

1. What inspires you the most in life?

I try to take my inspiration from everything that surrounds me. I am particularly inspired by my partner, he is exceptional. I really look up to him, he is so wonderful and so supportive I could not imagine my life without him. He inspires me to keep fighting my condition, to carry on helping others, to become the best that I can be so I can achieve everything that I want to out of life and I really hope that I do the same for him. I am really grateful to have someone that will work with me and challenge me, he makes me feel like I can conquer anything put before me.

2. What is your overall favourite beauty brand and why?

Rimmel, I really love their range of products and how well they work together. I particularly love: Lasting finish foundation, Fix and perfect pro primer, Wake me up concealer, Match perfection compact powder, Scandal eyes retro glam mascara and Scandal eyes thick and thin eyeliner. I've never really strayed too far from Rimmel as I've been really happy with the quality of the products, but I am always open to trying new brands.

3. Where do you see yourself in 5 years time?

Hopefully I will have finished my degree and be in a professional role helping others adjust to life with chronic illnesses and conditions. I feel that with my personal experience I can bring more compassion and understanding to patients, and try to offer adequate support to those in need. I hope to have brought together a dedicated fundraising team by then and also work on building my own business or project on Kickstarter.

4. What made you start blogging?

When I was diagnosed in January 2014 with Hypermobility syndrome, I learnt that the chronic condition was not only debilitating but also rather rare and unheard of. This prompted me to start gathering all of the information that I could from legitimate sites so I could make this information more accessible for not only just those who suffer or know sufferers but for the world, so hopefully one day I can raise enough awareness so I could ask a random stranger on the street what HMS or EDS means and they'll be able to tell me what they stand for.

5. What is your biggest fear?

Uncertainty is my biggest fear, and something I have to unfortunately live with having such an unpredictable condition. I am uncertain if I will ever be able to work again, whether I would be able to complete my degree and other such things that sometimes really get me down. However, this is something that one day in the future I might actually be able to change. If I can get to a stage where I can manage my illness then I can start making plans and looking forward to my future rather than worrying myself stupid over it.

6. If you could only shop at one clothing store for the rest of your life, which would it be?

I would have to only ever shop at H&M, I absolutely love love love H&M. It was a close call between that and Primark, and maybe also Boohoo? Oh it is too difficult to decide, but my wardrobe is jam packed with items from all three places. I would have to flip a coin or something! H&M has more clothes that I would wear compared to Primark, but the shoes in H&M just don't do it for me and Primark is like an essential for literally everything. Boohoo's jumpers are to die for though, but I will have to go with Boohoo as my final answer, my Aztec jumpers are too precious to me.

7. What is your favourite book you are reading or have read and why is it your favourite?

This is the most difficult question. I love reading books, I can't choose a favourite so I will have to talk about the book that I am currently reading, it is called The Passage by Justin Cronin. This book begins in the near future about an apocalyptic and post apocalyptic world that becomes overrun by creatures that resemble vampires but are infected by a highly contagious virus which transforms the world. I am not  too far into this book but I am loving it, and would definitely recommend Justin Cronin to anyone that loves to read.

8. Would you rather only buy clothes for the rest of your life or makeup?

I would rather buy clothes! I do love wearing makeup to hide my horrible under eye bags and my skin that is very lacklustre, but I really could not go on a run around with either no clothes or only having to ever live in the clothes I currently own for the rest of my life. I am in a pair of trackies right now, shameful!

9. What are your goals for blogging and your blog?

I am very passionate about writing, and even more so when it comes to helping other people. I am hoping to blog about my medical journey (that I am still undergoing) and build a database of useful information for chronic illnesses - particularly EDS - so that everyone has access to the information and support they require. I am hoping to share my tips and tricks for pain management, life hacks, fundraising, basic illness management techniques and lifestyle changes and also to share my adventures with my chronic illness to show others that you can and deserve to live and love your life with a chronic condition or a disability.

10. What are your dreams and aspirations? What do you want to do, who do you want to be etc?

I want to be the best that I can so I can put all of my focus and energy into helping others, and to then inspire those that I can help to do the same for others. My condition has really put things into perspective for me, I now know what is important in life and that was something I had lacked a few years ago. I take pleasure in the littlest of things, I am grateful for the smallest of gestures and I am happier and more determined to succeed now than I ever have been. I aspire to become someone with influence, I would love to be able to be the person that can make a positive change.

11. Have you ever been really disappointed by a product or service and why? was it worth the hype?

PC World/ Curries, I remember it like it was yesterday. I had bought myself a nice 27" TV to replace my monitor in my room and I was beyond excited at the prospect of finally being able to bring my xBox 360 upstairs so I could finally get to game out in the comfort of my own bed. The TV was at a discounted price also, a glossy black Samsung that was going to fulfill my need to slay zombies in Black Ops 2 and destroy on Hardcore Domination in Modern Warfare 3 at the time. So the TV arrives, I set it up and get my xBox going, and what do I see three seconds after turning it on? A dead pixel. Imagine extreme gamer rage, tenfold. I called up PC World and demanded to have a replacement delivered to my house as I refused to go back to store to pick up a TV filled with disappointment. They didn't have a replacement for me, expected me to drop off their product in store and I had to wait over a month for a refund.
