Yesterday I went on a little outing to town, I was only gone for two hours but it definitely left me feeling pretty winded. I am still suffering from some gastrointestinal issues and fatigue but I will be going away for a while at the end of the week and I had to pick up some items that I would take traveling with me. I had a lovely time out despite feeling so terrible, I met a parent of a disabled child raising money for Give a smile UK and I picked up a few things that I wanted to share as I think they're pretty snazzy.
First of all, I am hardly ever seen wearing a dress it is a once a year occasion for me, but I couldn't resist picking up these two lovely dresses from H&M at £7.99 each. I wanted some cooler clothing to wear during the summer months, I don't generally go out during this time as I am very intolerant to the heat but these dresses will be perfect to wear sitting in the garden.

Fit me anti-shine stick in 115 £7.99, Fit me foundation in 115 £8.99, Baby lips hydrate £2.99, Baby skin primer £7.99[/caption]Also from H&M I picked up a nice pair of grey high tops, I don't need to own any more shoes but for £3 I simply couldn't resist. I also went a bit mad when I saw that Maybelline were having a 'buy one, get one half price' deal in Superdrug. I only intended to buy some more foundation and I left with a little more than just that.
For my 'spoonie' travel kit (for more information click here for the spoon theory) I purchased some heat packs, cooling packs, sports tape and cohesive support tape all from the pound shop. Traveling and staying away from home with a chronic illness is far from easy, so I thought it would be best to compile a bag full of travel sized goodies that will bring me some relief in case I have a dreaded flare up whilst I am away. In another post I will cover tips on traveling with a chronic illness and the contents of my travel kit in a bit more depth.
I also wanted to write a little bit about Give a smile UK charity, I was approached by a parent with a disabled child whilst out in town and he spent some time telling me what the charity did for him and his family. Give a smile was established in May 2012, and they aim to provide family days out, holidays and short breaks for families that are experiencing challenging circumstances, such as children with disability and financial hardship. I happily made a donation and received a wristband, I was also directed to the website to make a nomination.
I nominated Annabelle Griffin, a beautiful little girl that has a condition called Vascular Ehlers Danlos Syndrome. There is a registered charity in her name, and her family do so much to raise awareness and raise money for this life threatening condition. I couldn't think of a family more deserving, for more information about Annabelle's Challenge please click here. If you know a family that are experiencing challenging circumstances and feel that they need a treat, you can visit their website here and nominate them for a nice holiday away!
Enjoy the sunshine!

Looks like a successful trip to town! Every spoonie travel kit should include your heat packs and cool packs! Give a smile sounds amazing! :)
